Mission and Organisation
We aspire as a choir to perform concerts with high quality choral art for our enjoyment and that of the community of the Macedon Ranges and its neighbours, and in so doing to provide opportunities for the development of the choral singing skill of our members. We;
-
Seek to nurture people with musical talent in the community and encourage participation of local musicians in our concerts.
-
Offer a wide repertoire of music in recognition of a diversity of musical taste in the community
-
Are a non-profit organization whose commercial success remains important only to the fulfillment of our aims.
The choir has an annually appointed committee which manages the choir's business. Additionally, members (and families) of the choir contribute in many ways to our successes (e.g. fund raising, setup, publicity, video, audio) to share the workload. Members are kept informed of activities via the president and the choir's email list.
Funds raised by concerts and other events all go towards sustaining the choir. For example, we are fortunate to perform with professional singers and orchestral players at many of our concerts.
